who is membership for?

A Language First membership is perfect for you if:

You are a professional working directly with Deaf and hard of hearing children who wants resources, continuing education, and an entire community at your fingertips

what are the group options?

Group discounts are available for the standard membership and the premium membership and must be processed via email. Please email info@language1st.org if you’re interested in group rates.

Receive monthly resources, including handouts, graphics, instructional activities, or other evidence-based digital items to help you do your job more effectively! Use the instructional activities directly with your Deaf and hard of hearing students without any prep work on your part! The handouts and graphics are visual ways to help you explain concepts to colleagues, parents, and other professionals. Available to basic, standard, and premium members.

special interest groups (sigs)

Become part of community discussion forums through Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These groups are a chance for you to have discussions and share resources with other professionals in your field who utilize an ASL-English bilingual approach. Available to basic, standard, and premium members.

exclusive video content

Receive exclusive video content, or short lectures in ASL with English voiceover. They are shareable videos that help you explain important concepts related to Deaf and hard of hearing children to colleagues, parents, and other professionals. Available to basic, standard, and premium members.

ASL coffee hour

Join the monthly ASL Coffee Hour and practice your ASL with one of our experienced Deaf team members. Come with any questions you have about the language, or just to practice your receptive skills! Available to basic, standard, and premium members.

monthly webinar code

Receive a code for one free webinar or asynchronous course to further your learning. It can be applied to any live virtual webinar or any recorded course from the Learning Library.* Earn continuing education credits and certificates of completion with any course you use your code on! Available to standard and premium members.

webinar archive

Browse our archive of recorded webinars from the past year and learn on your own time! Refresh your knowledge or gain new insights into evidence-based practice for working with Deaf and hard of hearing students. Available to standard and premium members.

conference discount

Receive 10% off your registration to our annual conference. The conference is held each fall, and you will receive a code to use at checkout to obtain your exclusive discount. Available to standard, premium, and scholar members.

journal club

Stay up to date on the current evidence by reading, listening to, or watching our article reviews each month. Our review of a select article is posted for you to read, but you can also listen to it or watch it in ASL! And, you can earn ASHA CEUs for accessing the review in any modality. Available to premium members.

monthly consult

Receive a free consultation with any of the experts from our team. Ask us any questions you have about how to best serve the Deaf or hard of hearing students in your classroom or on your caseload! Available to premium members.

With the scholar membership, members get annual access to all courses in the Language First Learning Library.

Once you sign up for a Language First Membership, you will receive access to all your benefits through your language1st.org account. If you don’t have an account yet, you will be prompted to create one when you complete your membership purchase.

On the 1st of every month, you will receive an email reminding you to check out your new benefits for that month! You can cancel your membership at any time by logging into your account and clicking “manage subscription.”

I’m already a member!

If you are already a member, access your benefits by logging into your language1st.org account. If you are a scholar member, access your benefits by logging into your courses.language1st.org account.

*Standard members receive a code for $39 off any one webinar or asynchronous course. Premium members receive 100% off any one webinar or asynchronous course per month. Note: The code cannot be applied to the annual conference or the ISLISLP course.
