This resource contains interactive vocabulary lessons and activities for 17 weeks. Words are organized into groups of 10 related nouns and verbs. Lesson topics are: family, time, birds, clothing, bodies of water, fruit, trees, sports, the shore, wild cats, transportation, infrastructure, verbs with your eyes, measurement, homes, animal body parts, and actions. Each week’s lesson contains:

• a list of the target words with a data sheet for how well each child knows the words

• pictures of the vocabulary words

• interactive strategies for learning the words, such as making connections, sorting, sequencing, comparing and contrasting, and answering questions

• a list of tasks to reinforce understanding, such as acting it out, writing about it, or explaining it

• a fill-in-the-blank paragraph with a word bank utilizing all ten words
